Annual Pow Wow

Come and enjoy a glimpse of Native American heritage, competitive dancing, Native American cuisine and arts and crafts at this family-friendly event.

Pow Wows are social events—a good time to see old friends or make new ones. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and engage in conversation with vendors, dancers, singers and other Pow Wow participants.

Adults: $6.00

Elders & Children under 12: $4.00

Dancers

Come be part of the excitement!

Dance Competition with $10,000 in total prize money.

Dance category payouts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places:

  • Men’s Traditional

  • Women’s Traditional

  • Men’s Grass

  • Women’s Jingle

  • Men’s Fancy

  • Women’s Fancy Shawl

Medical services will be on the premises.

How to Register

Download the registration form (PDF), fill it in, and bring it to the Pow Wow on the morning of the event.

Hard copies of the form will also be available to complete on the day of the event.

Registration opens at 10:00 a.m.

Grand Entry at 1 p.m.

Cost for Dancer Registration

  • $10 for adults

  • $5 for under 18

Pow Wow Etiquette

Location & Parking

Parking is located at Hartwood Elementary/Dorseyville Middle School 3732 Saxonburg Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.

Busses run continuously to and from our main event to transport spectators at parking area.

 

Driving Directions

From the Turnpike

Take Exit #48. Go south on Freeport Road towards Pittsburgh. Go to the traffic light by Target and Giant Eagle Express and turn right onto Route 910. **Once on Route 910, get into the left lane. Follow Route 910 approximately 6 miles to the traffic light on Saxonburg Blvd. Turn left onto Saxonburg Blvd., go approximately 1/2 mile and follow the parking signs.

From Pittsburgh

Take Route 28 to Exit 11. Turn left onto Route 910 and follow directions from ** Alternate route from Pittsburgh: Take Route 28 to Exit 5B, Etna/Route 8. Follow Route 8 for three traffic lights. (K Mart is on your right.) Turn right onto Saxonburg Blvd. Stay on Saxonburg Blvd. for six miles. Follow the parking signs.
